The BIG tree

Jon's brother Josh is building a new shop. In order to do this, the old shop needed to be demolished and a couple of trees needed to be up-rooted. This is the story of the BIG tree...



This is the BIG tree. It is missing it's lower branches because they were cut off before I got there to take it's picture...Apparently not having lower branches makes it easier to get the chain around it.

Oh yeah, J & J decided it would be best to pull it down with Josh's rebuilt jeep *the little thing in the bottom right corner* and not his F350 pickup....



First thing's first....try to uncover as many roots as possible and cut some of the bigger ones thus making it easier to pull down.



This is the fourth or fifth attempt. Finally, the hooked the F350 pickup up to the jeep and pulled the jeep and the tree down. TIMMMMMBBBBBERRRRRRR!



And with a loud "crash" the BIG tree came down. It was quite a day hampered with a few thunder storms and lots of hard rain. Not bad for a day's work.
