Quick update on the kiddos
This will be an image-less post. My camera decided to let two sticky little fingers into it's lens and mess it all up. So, any picture I take is a blurr. Try as I might, I can't get it clean, so for now, this is just a written update. (Photos WILL be coming soon though...we are set to have family photos taken on Saturday!!!)
Kyra:
Enjoying 4th grade. At least the parts she understands. There are some math problems that are worded slightly different than others and it throws her for a loop. Other than that, she LOVES her teacher and has enjoyed reconnecting with some of the kids she hasn't been in class with for a while. She turns 10 at the end of this month and I don't know how I feel about that. Where did all those years go?
Megan:
Is ok about 3rd grade. She has a love-hate relationship right now. She's doing well, but forgets to turn it all in. She is my biggest flirt and has boys calling now. At least it's about schoolwork, but I know that will just be a "cover" in a couple of years. She turned 8 in July and loved the attention. We're working on control with her. She loses it quite often and so she is trying to work on that as well.
Jacob:
Holy cow he LOVES school. Love his teacher, loves the school, loves his bus and bus driver, loves doing the weekend packets, loves ALL OF IT! I couldn't be happier for him! The only part I don't love is waiting the hour it takes for him to get home. I have so much I'd love to do in that time, but if I'm not at the school at least 5 minutes before he gets out, I have to wait at home for the bus.
Ethan:
He became very ornery when the kids went back to school. He is talking a lot more. Full sentences and there are only maybe a couple of words we can't understand. I'm so thankful that he has been able to come in to the realm of verbal communication. Right now he is suffering from allergies and the changing seasons and he has lost his voice a little bit. It cracks and reaches high pitches every now and then and it provides some fun entertainment. He's 3 and becoming more independent every day. Again, where has the time gone?
Jon and I are busy. In church, Jon was released from his 1st counselor in the Young Men's Presidency and moved to the Varsity Coach position in the Boys Scouts. He loves it! He still gets to work with the same boys, but now his schedule seems to fit it better. Work is winding down for him. The plant should be done processing the Mustard Gas in November and then the clean-up begins. We are looking at being done in February of 2013 if not earlier. With this news, we are looking forward to a potential transfer to Pueblo, Colorado. We're both excited at that possibility. Jon served his mission for the church in Colorado and he has many friends there. (I'm excited for some mountains!)
I am still busy at home with the kids. I have 3 callings in the church. I teach in the Relief Society, I coordinate the Visiting Teaching, and I also work with the 8-11 year old girls in their Achievement Day program. Life is busy!
This weekend we get to go see my sister Becky who is going to be taking our family photos. I'm so excited! Here is a link to her blog. She does great work! I can't wait to post our photos!!!
