Money tree

I wish I had a money tree....

But I guess tax returns will have to do.

It is so nice to be able to sit down, pay bills AND have money left over for savings and/or something fun even when we owe the State of Oregon money as well. 

So, here's to feeling comfortable for a little bit longer!!!

If I Listen With My Heart

This year in Primary, the theme is "I Know the Scriptures are True".   I think this is a wonderful theme to study.  Along with the theme, there are songs that really make me feel the Spirit.  I love listening to them in the car and at home.  Jacob has really taken to this song and can sing it by himself on key.  It warms my heart to hear him sing this song and I'm thankful to heavenly Father for inspiring church leaders who create wonderful themes and outlines for our kids to follow.

A proud, yet humbling moment

Earlier this evening I received a phone call from Kyra's Primary teacher.  Sister Petersen is a sweet lady in our ward.  She has 2 kids (a boy a little older than Ethan and a baby girl) and her husband works with Jon in the Young Men's program.  Anyway, she was commenting to her husband over dinner how much she loves having Kyra in her class. Kyra is always willing to help and what a sweet girl she is.

I couldn't help but be proud of Kyra.  She truly does have a special spirit.  She tries to help those she sees in need and wants to do her best in everything.

It was also humbling because I didn't know what to say to Sister Petersen.  She was thanking me and Jon and telling me what a great job we've done in raising Kyra, but I know she isn't this way because of us.  I know that Kyra is a special 9 year old who loves all she meets and who also loves the Lord and wants to do whatever is required and beyond to return to Him someday.
